Quick answer

Digital Wallet is Salesforce's free, in-org view of what your consumption products have used. It monitors; it does not limit: nothing is blocked or throttled at 100%, and alerts stay off until an admin activates a flow. Its only look ahead is a three-month forecast, and the invoice, not Digital Wallet, is the record of what you owe.1–7

What Digital Wallet is
Digital Wallet is a free account-management app in a production Salesforce org that shows consumption, seat licenses and product limits. It arrived in the Summer '24 release, first for Data Cloud consumption products.1,2,8
Each consumption card tracks one entitlement under one buying model. Pre-purchased cards show credits consumed, remaining and total, with a progress bar; pay-as-you-go cards show only the current billing cycle, because there is no cap. Most consumption data refreshes every few hours.9,10
Consumption tags break Flex Credits down by agent, action, feature and usage type. The detail leaves Digital Wallet only through a Data 360 report: there is no one-click export from the cards.3,11
It is not the bill. The monthly statement and the invoice are the record of what you owe; Digital Wallet rounds credits to whole numbers on screen while billing uses full precision, so small differences are expected.7
What the card won't do
A monitoring system is not a spending hard stop. Six limits worth knowing before a month closes.
1. Stop usage at 100%
Digital Wallet doesn't block, throttle or switch off any service. Usage past the entitlement continues and is billed monthly in arrears at your contracted rate.2,3
2. Alert you by default
Alerts come from the Consumption Threshold Alerts flow, which an admin must activate. It runs on a schedule in production, can't run in a sandbox, and checks 50, 70, 80, 85, 90, 95 and 100% by default.4,12
3. Show a burn rate
No Digital Wallet article documents a burn rate or a run-out date. Its only look ahead is a three-month forecast, which needs three months of history and does not compare usage with how much of the term has passed.5,6
4. Replace your invoice
The Monthly Account Summary is emailed on the 10th and is informational only. Where it and the invoice disagree, the invoice is the source of truth.7,13
Confirm it inInvoice · the billing record
5. Cap your spend
No spend cap or budget setting is documented; Salesforce's advice is to set up alerts. MuleSoft's Model Wallet, a different product, does cap model spend routed through MuleSoft. It doesn't cover Flex Credits.3
6. Show external agents' calls, yetAnnounced
Calls by registered external agents will be metered as Headless Platform Interactions and tracked in Digital Wallet once metering starts. The multiplier is TBA, and nothing is metered yet.14,15
What it costs
The app is free. Some of what you can build on its data is not.
Source. Salesforce's rate cards, pricing pages and Help articles. Some analysis on its data, such as JDBC queries or data transforms, can consume Data 360 credits. The Tableau Next analytics dashboard needs a license per viewer; 10 are included per org.

Who sees Digital Wallet
Production orgs on Enterprise, Performance or Unlimited editions that own a Digital Wallet-enabled product, once Data 360 is turned on.1
- Pay-as-you-go customers see the current billing cycle only: with no cap, there is nothing to count down.9
- Agentic Enterprise License Agreement customers see their consumption on cards marked Unlimited, with no usage billing.16
- Orgs with several contracts: usage draws first on the entitlements that expire earliest, then bills at the lowest usage rate across the contracts.13
What the card tells you, and what it leaves to you
On the card
- Credits consumed, remaining and total, for each entitlement.9
- Usage by agent, action, feature and usage type.3
- Most data refreshes every few hours; contract changes can take 24–48 hours to show.10
- A three-month forecast, once there are three months of history.6
- Seven default alert tiers, from 50% to 100%, once the alert flow is active.4,12

Frequently asked questions
Does Salesforce stop Agentforce when Flex Credits run out?
No. Digital Wallet doesn't block, throttle or switch off any service at 100%; usage past the entitlement continues and is billed monthly in arrears.3
How do I get Digital Wallet alerts?
Activate the Consumption Threshold Alerts flow template in Setup. It's off by default, runs in production only and checks 50, 70, 80, 85, 90, 95 and 100% by default; at 100% it switches to a recurring notification, daily by default.4,12
Is Digital Wallet free?
Yes, with a Digital Wallet-enabled product. Some analysis on its data, such as JDBC queries or data transforms, can consume Data 360 credits.2
How up to date is Digital Wallet?
Most consumption data refreshes every few hours. Provisioning, contract changes and newly enabled products can take 24 to 48 hours to show.10
Does Digital Wallet show a burn rate or run-out date?
No such metric is documented. Its only forward-looking view is a three-month forecast, which needs about three months of history. A burn rate can be calculated from the card's consumed, total, start and end dates, and is then a calculation, not a Salesforce figure.5,6
Why is Digital Wallet different from my invoice?
Digital Wallet is monitoring, cumulative from contract start, and rounds credits on screen. The monthly statement and the invoice are the authoritative record, so small differences are expected.7
